B2B Marketing Design

Rates for in-house marketing teams at technical and SaaS companies
Marketing teams buy design differently than small businesses do. You have a roadmap, a quarterly calendar, and a stakeholder who needs a datasheet by Thursday. These rates are built for that.

Retainers for ongoing capacity, fixed fees for defined deliverables, and a day rate for overflow. All pricing is project-based or monthly, never percentage of spend.

Monthly retainers

Reserved capacity, month to month, no long contract. Best if you have a recurring content calendar and want a designer who already knows your product. Unused hours roll over one month.
Support - 10 hours / month
$950 / month
Social graphics, blog imagery, and small collateral updates. Roughly one substantial asset a week. Effective rate $95/hr.
Partner - 20 hours / month
$1,800 / month
Campaign assets, datasheets, case studies, and event materials. Enough capacity to own a channel. Effective rate $90/hr.
Embedded - 40 hours / month
$3,400 / month
Functionally a part-time member of your marketing team. Standing meetings, roadmap participation, and first call on your queue. Effective rate $85/hr.
Custom volume
Quoted
Above 40 hours a month, or multi-quarter commitments with a dedicated scope.

Fixed fee, defined scope, agreed before anything starts. Best when you know exactly what you need and when you need it by.

Design systems & templates

The highest-leverage work I do. Build the system once and your team stops waiting on a designer for routine output. This is what I did at BitTitan and Routeware, and it is usually the fastest thing to pay for itself.
Template Library
$3,500 - $7,500
Whitepaper, datasheet, case study, social, and presentation templates in your tools, with usage guidelines your stakeholders can actually follow.
Brand Guidelines for Marketing Teams
$2,400 - $5,000
Not a logo manual. Practical rules for how the brand behaves across campaigns, decks, events, and ad-hoc requests.
Figma Component Library
$2,800 - $6,000
Reusable components, variables, and layouts so your team builds on-brand assets without redrawing anything.
Design System Audit
$1,200
A review of what your team produces today, where the inconsistencies come from, and what to fix first. Credited against any project booked within 60 days.

How it works

Onboarding
A scoping call, access to your brand assets, and a shared queue. Retainer clients get a standing check-in at whatever cadence suits your team.
Revisions
Two rounds included on project work. Retainer hours cover revisions as part of the block.
Payment Terms
Retainers billed monthly in advance, net 15. Project work is 50% to start and 50% on delivery. Purchase orders and vendor onboarding accommodated.
Ownership & Files
You own everything produced. Working files, vector source, and editable templates are handed over as standard, not sold as an add-on.
Confidentiality
Happy to sign your NDA before a scoping call. Nothing appears in my portfolio without written permission.

Not sure which of these you need?

Most teams start with a scoping call and a fixed-fee project, then move to a retainer once the working rhythm is established. Based in Tacoma, working with marketing teams across the Puget Sound and remotely. Tell me what’s on your roadmap this quarter.
